The new route will officially start operation on January 3, 2023.
Pacific International Lines (PIL) recently announced that in order to continue to expand its Asian route service network, it will soon launch a new weekly direct service connecting China's South China ports with the Philippines - the South China Philippines Route (SCP).
The SCP route will be officially put into operation on January 3, 2023, covering all ports in South China such as Xiamen, Nansha, Shekou, and directly connecting to Manila and Cebu in the Philippines.
The route will be served by two ships with a capacity of 800TEU, with the port sequence being Xiamen-Nansha-Shekou-Manila-Cebu-Xiamen.
Surendran Mathilagath, General Manager of PIL Services Asia, said: “We are delighted to launch this new South China to Philippines service, which demonstrates PIL’s commitment to providing customers with close connectivity and quality services.”
It said that driven by the strong domestic demand in the Philippines in the post-epidemic era, PIL expects that the Philippine economy will perform well in the next few years. At the same time, the implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) is expected to push China-Philippines trade cooperation to a new level.
Therefore, PIL hopes to enable its customers to benefit from the continued growth of China-Philippines trade by providing new Philippine route services.
