How Ireland’s Postcode Changes Affect Your Business
As of July 2, 2023, all shipments sent to Ireland must include the recipient’s Eircode.

Overview of Ireland’s postcode changes
The Republic of Ireland currently has a postcode system called Eircode (hereafter referred to as Eircode). As of July 2, 2023, all shipments sent to Ireland must include the recipient’s Eircode.
Eircode is a 7-character code consisting of letters and numbers. It is a modern, reliable system that uniquely identifies every individual home, commercial premises, and business address. The Eircode system is also a valuable resource. Its introduction makes it easier and faster for recipients to receive services. It also helps logistics companies improve delivery speed and accuracy.
Visit the following websites for more information about Eircode:

How will this change affect senders outside Ireland?
- From July 2, 2023, senders using CZL Express’s electronic shipping solution to send shipments to the Republic of Ireland will need to provide the recipient’s Eircode.
- All senders need to take action as soon as possible to avoid being adversely affected by the changes to Ireland’s Eircode requirements.
- If a complete and accurate Irish Eircode is missing, your shipment may face one of the following three issues:
- A poorer customer experience;
- Service delays;
- Inability to ship to Ireland.
