Relevant prohibitions and restrictions on express exports to Saudi Arabia

 According to ARAMEX's notice, Saudi Arabia's local customs has stepped up supervision of imported express shipments, and the origin should strictly abide by the local customs' regulations. We hereby emphasize the following requirements and remind you of the related risks:

1. The following goods are prohibited from being sent to Saudi Arabia via express delivery. Once discovered, Saudi Arabian Customs will confiscate, forcibly return or destroy them according to the different goods involved.

(1) In addition to items with obscene and immoral meanings in the general sense, various adult products, sex toys, and even women's underwear or clothing models and massage products are considered pornographic products by Saudi Arabian Customs.

(2) Various items that can be used for surveillance, eavesdropping, covert photography, positioning and other espionage activities, including various smart wearable devices with covert photography functions (smart watches, smart glasses, etc.), very small and concealed photo, video and recording equipment (including voice recorders), car GPS locators, laser pens, laser glasses, telescopes, drones, etc.

(3) Various wireless communication terminals are not available, such as various walkie-talkies.

(4) Weapon accessories, including items that can be used for offensive purposes, such as electric ant swatters, darts, etc.

(5) Radar detectors, metal detectors, etc.

(6) Toy remote-controlled cars or airplanes.

(7) Gambling related items.

(8) Goods originating from Israel or bearing the Star of David pattern.

(9) Animal fur, USB flash drives and other flash memory devices.

(10) Counterfeit brand goods.

(11) Electronic cigarettes.

2. In addition to documents, the country of origin must be indicated on all goods.

3. The following products require approval from the relevant Saudi Arabian authorities or have mandatory certification requirements, regardless of weight or amount.

(1) Various communication equipment requires CITC approval.

(2) Cosmetics require SAFA approval.

(3) Medical equipment requires approval from the Saudi Ministry of Health.

(4) Mobile phones or other devices with GPS function require approval from the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Communications.

(5) Lighting equipment, mobile phone accessories, laptop computers and some auto parts, electrical equipment, electronic components, etc. require SASO certification and certificate of origin.
