The Zhejiang government organized a group to charter a plane to "grab orders"! Sichuan, Jiangsu, Guangdong, and Fujian also made big moves...

As my country's epidemic prevention and control is gradually improved, industry insiders predict that more provinces and cities will join the ranks of organizing overseas trips to "grab orders" and go all out to stabilize the basic foreign trade market.

Recently, a team consisting of relevant persons in charge of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce and other provincial departments and enterprise representatives started a six-day trip to Germany and France. This team is also the first group led by a provincial commerce department to go abroad since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic.

It is understood that this trip to Europe is the first stop of the "Thousands of Groups and Enterprises Expand Markets and Grab Orders Action". The action is led by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce, and the government takes the lead in linking enterprises to participate in exhibitions abroad and conduct business negotiations.

Li Lin, secretary general of the business delegation, said: "We hope that through the government departments taking the lead in going global, we can send a more positive signal to enterprises, so that they will have more confidence and willingness to take the initiative to go global and gain more opportunities to compete and cooperate with international peers."

Almost at the same time, a "grabbing order group" consisting of 96 people set off for Hangzhou and then flew to Japan.

In addition to the "foreign trade people" from Jiaxing, Ningbo, Huzhou and other places, there is also a "logistics team" composed of Jiaxing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, Municipal Prevention and Control Office and other departments. They will participate in the AFF Textile and Clothing Exhibition in Japan and negotiate new projects with well-known local companies.

Ma Guoming, chairman of Jiaxing Yihutong Import and Export Co., Ltd., is excited and looking forward to going abroad again after a lapse of 3 years: "Hopefully, we can keep our orders and customers."

One meeting is worth a thousand emails. Li Lin said that in the early stage of the survey, it was found that many enterprises have concerns about "going global", so the government departments need to set an example and give enterprises confidence.

The joint efforts of the government and enterprises to grab orders are a microcosm of the active response of Zhejiang, a major foreign trade province. Since the outbreak of the epidemic, Zhejiang has taken the lead in exploring innovations in the country, establishing and improving a service guarantee mechanism to facilitate the entry and exit of business personnel, and helping enterprises go global, grab orders, and expand markets.

Since the launch of the first Hong Kong-Hangzhou regular business flight on June 27, Zhejiang Province has operated 41 regular flights per week, organized and implemented 26 business charter flights, and provided services to more than 1,600 business personnel in total.

At the same time, Ningbo, Jinhua, Hangzhou, Jiaxing, Huzhou, Taizhou and other places have successively explored and promoted the "charter flight/cabin + exhibition + business negotiation" model to open up overseas business opportunities for Zhejiang enterprises.

In addition to Zhejiang, Sichuan, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Fujian and other places have also been organizing foreign trade companies to go overseas recently.

On December 5, a business charter flight organized by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce to go to Europe to expand the market was officially launched. A total of 40 people from 31 foreign trade companies in the food, medicine, automobile, furniture, agricultural products and other industries flew to France, Germany and Italy to carry out a 9-day economic and trade promotion activity.

In 2023, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce will also organize the "Sichuan Travels Around the World·ASEAN Economic and Trade Promotion Activities", leading enterprises to Thailand, Vietnam and other member countries of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) to participate in well-known exhibitions and deepen their presence in Southeast Asian and other markets.

In addition, on December 9, Suzhou, Jiangsu will provide charter flights and organize investment promotion teams to go to Europe to carry out investment promotion work. At the same time, about 100 senior executives of foreign trade companies will go to Europe to maintain customers and win orders.

Earlier in November, the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce organized nearly 40 foreign trade companies with more than 100 people to charter flights to Southeast Asia to participate in the Guangdong (Malaysia) Commodity Exhibition and the Asia-Pacific Singapore Beauty Exhibition, helping foreign trade companies to grab orders, expand markets and build channels.

In the same month, a Shenzhen business charter flight group consisting of 43 people from 22 companies rushed to Germany to participate in the MEDICA exhibition. It is reported that Shenzhen will include 68 overseas exhibitions in the 2022 overseas exhibition key support plan this year to support companies to expand overseas markets through exhibitions.

Since the second half of 2022, the Fujian Provincial Department of Commerce has successively organized the "Fujian Products Selling Globally" Hong Kong, RCEP, and European tours. Various parts of the province have also organized companies to participate in overseas exhibitions to help Fujian's foreign trade companies go abroad to participate in exhibitions and grab orders.

The massive actions taken in various places have not only opened up business opportunities for foreign trade companies, but also sent a signal of "stabilizing orders and increasing confidence."

As my country's epidemic prevention and control is gradually improved, "striving for economy" is becoming a concerted action in various places. Industry insiders predict that more provinces and cities will join the ranks of organizing groups to go overseas to "grab orders" and go all out to stabilize the basic foreign trade market.

Wei Jianguo, former vice minister of the Ministry of Commerce and vice chairman of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges, previously stated that the method of organizing foreign trade enterprises to go abroad to participate in exhibitions by provincial-level commerce departments has effectively broken the current bottlenecks in stabilizing foreign trade and obtained orders that they could not get by waiting at home in the past. This will lay a good foundation for a good start for foreign trade in 2023.
