Ten armed men entered the Port of San Antonio in Chile and stole 13 containers, most of which were copper coins.

According to Reuters, a violent robbery occurred at the Port of San Antonio, Chile on January 10, 2023.

Local prosecutors said in a statement that 10 armed men entered the Port of San Antonio early that morning and, after attacking port workers, stole 13 containers, 12 of which contained copper plates.

According to police, the total value of the stolen goods is about $4.4 million. The video is currently being investigated, but no suspects have been detained. This incident is the largest copper robbery since a number of violent robberies occurred in northern Chile in October 2022.

Chile is the world's largest copper producer. The occurrence of such violent robberies will lead to increased pressure on the country's transportation security.
