Demand surcharge from 5 August 2024 (Mainland China)

FedEx may impose demand surcharges during a period of increased shipping volumes, increased capacity demand, rising operating costs, and multiple pressures on the transportation network.

Starting August 5, 2024, FedEx will charge a demand surcharge for international shipments shipped at the Mainland China export rate.

Demand Surcharges will be determined by FedEx at its sole discretion and are subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the FedEx Service Guide and FedEx Standard Conditions of Carriage for the country of shipment origin. FedEx reserves the right to modify Demand Surcharges, including but not limited to rates, terms, applicable areas or any other conditions. FedEx may also cancel, modify or adjust any waiver of Demand Surcharges at its sole discretion with prior notice.

The above surcharge amounts are for reference only and may vary depending on the rate class or rate sheet you register with FedEx. To find out the actual surcharges for your shipment, log in to your FedEx account and use the Rates & Transit Times application at fedex.com. If you have any questions, please contact your local sales or customer service team.

Some of the countries listed above that are in different geographic regions may be subject to the same surcharge amount (per kg) if they are grouped into the same pricing area under any given rate sheet or price list. For details, please refer to the regional index of the FedEx rate sheet or price list you registered, or contact your local sales or customer service team.

^*^ This surcharge has a minimum charge for all international parcel and freight shipments, regardless of the market rate at the origin.​^^^The minimum charge is RMB 7.2 per parcel shipment and RMB 362 per international heavy cargo shipment^^The actual surcharge amount will be converted to the settlement currency.

1.** Australia and New Zealand:** Includes Australia, New Zealand, Brunei, Cambodia, Guam and Laos.

2.**Asia:** Includes Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong SAR, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Macau SAR and Mongolia.

3.** United States, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico:** Includes the United States, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and other countries that fall under the same pricing zone of the FedEx rate sheet or price list you register.

4.** European Union:** Includes the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Israel, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, Sweden, and other countries that fall under the same pricing region of the FedEx rate sheet or price list you register.

5. Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa: Includes United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Pakistan, Morocco, Qatar, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Algeria, Egypt, Nigeria, Bahrain, Oman and other countries that fall under the same pricing zone of the FedEx rate sheet or price list you register.

6. Latin America and the Caribbean: Includes Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Ecuador, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Panama, and other countries that fall under the same pricing zone of the FedEx rate sheet or price list you register for.

7. Surcharge amounts also apply to other countries: American Samoa, Cook Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia, Tahiti, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, New Caledonia, Northern Mariana Islands, Rota, Saipan, Tinian, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna.

Starting August 5, 2024, FedEx will charge a demand surcharge for international shipments shipped at the Mainland China export rate. Rates vary by destination country, starting at $7.2 per kilogram. Fees may vary based on registered rate tiers or price lists.
