PIL Launches New South China–Philippines Service
The new route will officially commence operations on January 3, 2023.
Pacific International Lines (PIL) recently announced that, as part of its ongoing efforts to expand its Asian service network, it will soon launch a new weekly direct service connecting ports in South China with the Philippines—the South China–Philippines (SCP) service.
The SCP service will officially commence operations on January 3, 2023, covering ports in South China, including Xiamen, Nansha and Shekou, with direct calls at Manila and Cebu in the Philippines.
The service will be jointly operated by two vessels, each with a capacity of 800TEU. The port rotation will be: Xiamen-Nansha-Shekou-Manila-Cebu-Xiamen.

Surendran Mathilagath, General Manager of PIL’s Asia Service, said: “We are delighted to launch this new South China–Philippines service. It demonstrates PIL’s steadfast commitment to providing our customers with close service connections and high-quality service.”
He added that, driven by robust domestic demand in the Philippines in the post-pandemic era, PIL expects the Philippine economy to perform well over the next few years. At the same time, the implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) is expected to take China–Philippines trade cooperation to a new level.
PIL therefore hopes that by providing this new service to the Philippines, it can help customers benefit from the continued growth in China–Philippines trade.
